Why connect directly to Google Calendar?

Automatic updates with Plus

BinSync checks the provider every two days for changes and updates your connected calendar.

On your Android phone too

The separate BinSync calendar appears in the Google Calendar app for the same Google account.

No ICS import

Authorize BinSync through Google. There is no file to download or calendar link to paste.

How it works

Add your waste calendar to Google Calendar

Start on your phone or computer. BinSync guides you from your personal waste calendar to the direct Google connection.

  1. 1

    Find your address

Enter your postcode and house number, then check the collection days BinSync finds.

  2. 2

Create an account or sign in

A BinSync account lets you manage the connected waste calendar.

  3. 3

    Choose Google Calendar

On your address page, open Calendar, choose Google Calendar, and select Connect Google Calendar.

  4. 4

    Authorize with Google

Choose your Google account and allow BinSync to create a separate waste calendar. Google returns you to BinSync for confirmation.

No ICS import needed on Android

Some waste providers offer an ICS file or calendar link. The Google Calendar Android app cannot import or add those directly. With BinSync, you connect the waste calendar through Google without using a computer for setup.

BinSync creates a separate calendar in your Google account. Connecting is free; with Plus, BinSync checks the provider for changed collection days and updates the calendar. An imported ICS file is only a snapshot.

Frequently asked questions about Google Calendar

Will my waste calendar update automatically?+

The Google connection is free. With Plus, BinSync checks the provider every two days for changes and updates the connected calendar. Without Plus, BinSync does not keep checking the provider.

Do I need an ICS file or computer on Android?+

No. You can connect BinSync to Google in your phone's browser. The Google Calendar Android app cannot itself import an ICS file or add a calendar link.

Will the calendar appear on my Android phone?+

Yes, when the same Google account is signed in and the BinSync calendar is visible and syncing in the Google Calendar app.

Can I set reminders?+

You can use the added calendar's settings in Google Calendar. For supported addresses, BinSync also provides one person with a free email on the evening before collection. Plus adds extra reminders and recipients.
