Hot weather can affect more than how a container smells. It can also change when collection crews start their routes.
On June 22, 2026, Circulus announced a temporary heat plan for June 24 through June 27. Collection teams would start earlier than usual, and residents were asked to put containers, PMD bags, bulky waste, pruning waste, BEST bags, and other home-collected streams out before 6:30 in the morning.
The same day, Rd4 published a similar heat update. For June 24, 25, and 26, residents were asked to put all waste and recyclable materials out before 6:00 in the morning, or the evening before. Rd4 also warned that pickup times shown in the app and pickup alarms would not automatically move with the temporary schedule.
That detail matters. A waste calendar can show the right collection day, but during heat measures the practical cut-off time may change. If your provider starts earlier for worker safety, putting a container out at your usual time can be too late even when the date is correct.
For BinSync readers, the habit is simple during warm weeks:
- Check provider updates when temperatures are high
- Put waste out the evening before if your local rules allow it
- Do not rely only on app alarms when a heat plan is active
- Recheck opening hours before visiting a recycling point
The calendar helps you remember the day. Provider service updates tell you whether that day needs an earlier start.
