How to add your waste calendar to Google Calendar

BinSync can create a separate waste collection calendar in your Google account. Your collection days then appear alongside your other calendars, without putting events in your main calendar or asking you to import an ICS file.

Connect your waste calendar

1. Open BinSync's Google Calendar page and enter your postcode and house number.
2. Check the collection days for your address. On your BinSync address page, open Calendar and choose Google Calendar.
3. Create a BinSync account or sign in if asked. Follow the instructions and select Connect Google Calendar.
4. Choose your Google account and allow BinSync to create and manage a dedicated waste calendar. Google returns you to BinSync while the collection days are added.

The connection itself is free. With BinSync Plus, BinSync checks the waste provider for changes and updates the connected calendar automatically. Without Plus, BinSync does not keep checking the provider for new schedule changes.

Using Google Calendar on Android

You can complete the BinSync connection in your phone's browser, then show the new calendar in the Google Calendar app. The app cannot import an ICS file or add a calendar feed URL directly. An ICS file imported on a computer is a static snapshot. A subscribed feed can reflect later changes when its source updates, but Google requires a computer to add that feed URL. BinSync's direct Google connection avoids those manual setup steps.
